Water question

I have family in a little town in upstate NY. I am thinking about visiting and taking 1-2 fish with me. They have bad tap water but the town has a natural spring that we have gotten water from and drank for many years. I drank it growing up. We've given it to very small children and all of our animals. I was wondering if that water would be ok to use with the bettas?

I'll say this: I do not trust the town's tap water. It doesn't taste right even when filtered. Whenever I drank water growing up, we used the water from the natural spring.

I will either way. I never put water in any of my tanks without using Prime. I was just wondering if the spring water would be ok to use or if I should avoid it.

As long are you are treating the water all should be fine. Even though spring water does not have some minerals in it. Just to be on the safe side research more about spring water for betta's on the net and see what is suggests.

Would it be possible to fill up gallons of your water before you leave? Or are you visiting for any extended period of time?

I'd be visiting for at least a month. I haven't been back there for over 3 years now. My Gram raised me and hasn't been in the best of health so I want to spend some time with her.
