Is this safe?

Being summertime, we have a bit of a fruit fly problem indoors.

Now, even though the tank is covered, the fruit flies have still been getting into the tank and become waterlogged. I've noticed every time this happens, my boys will go to the surface and pick them off.
While this seems like an awesome idea for a free 'fly trap', I'm a little concerned.

Is it safe for them to be eating these fruit flies?

Oh yeah! As long as there are no pesticides on them they should be fine :)

Ok good lol They seem to love these things, so I wanted to be sure.
Stupid little things are attracted to open containers of water, so hopefully this will cut down in the numbers until fall comes and rids the house of them (we get these things in the house every summer and they're annoying as heck)

Yep. I feed daphnia and I currently have a lot of mosquito larvae growing to feed as well :)

I need to look into some daphnia. I'd love to feed mosquito larvae, but I'm afraid of when they turn into adults. I wouldn't want them getting loose and infesting the house
