If you dont have a top you could use clear saranwrap on the top of his bowl and hold it on with a rubberband and he sure and poke some small holes in it. Good luck I hope the little guy gets to feeling better. Also his water temp should be 78 at least they like their water warm and are more active that way.

The bowl that I'm using is just under a gallon. I measured it out. 3.5 quarts.
I do not have a heater or a filter.

I usually do a water change by pouring some current water into a small bowl. I then put the fish in that bowl.

I then take the remaining water from the larger bowl and dump it. Proceed to clean bowl/gravel with only warm water. Fill the larger bowl back up with water. Add Stress Coat. Let water sit and reach room temp, then reintroduce fish into the clean water with a little bit of that original water.

What are the proper steps to acclimate my fish properly. Should I slowly be adding the new clean water to the retainer bowl, and then dumping that back into the main bowl?
