Need a little help with tank set up....

So today I got my grandma's 30 gallon tank with every thing she had!!! The bad part is I have no idea what all the stuff does or is or how to set it up, so i need a little help...
Pictures:
1. I have no idea where this goes or is or what it connects to..
2. Still don't know what it is or where it goes or where it connects to... maybe something to do with an air pump...
3. Still don't know what it is what it does or where it connects to...
4. Still same thing as number 3...
5. Okay something I know an air pump... don't know what it connects to though...
6. A filter but I don't know where it goes...
7. Inside the filter... do I need anything else with it?
8. The heater!
9. The tank and stand
10. The tanks lid and where I think some stuff goes...

It looks like you've got parts to an air filter. Not sure, never used one. Anyone else have any ideas?

Oh gees, thanks for the photos. I love playing the "What the **** is this" game.

Photos 6&7 are part of a AquaClear type hang on the back filtration system.

• Be careful with the old plastic. Due to age & the exposure to water, it could become brittle and if anything cracks, it basically renders the whole thing USELESS. Parts are not easy to come by for older aquarium equipment.

• Green thing with the airline tubing is a gang valve.

• That type of heater needs to be kept at a minimum water level or will will crack.
