Microworms Question Please

I have 4 big containers of MW. They are about 1-2 weeks old.

Questions:
1. When do you you restart a new culture?
2. How long should you keep old culture or how long old culture last (1 month???)? I will discard some old one when new one get going strong.
3. Do you use the same container again or discard it? I guess if it is cheap enough you can discard it.

Thank you

I start a new culture every couple weeks. Mine last for about a month but it can vary. And I rotate through containers. So yeah I reuse them. Always have at least two cultures going and I like to stagger mine so at least every week I have a new one and old.

I have 5 cultures going at the same time. I just toss in more yeast every 2 days and once a week I just add a little more oatmeal if it needs water I add a dropper full.

Cool

My cultures seem to last quite a while. To be safe I try to have at least two cultures and start a third.

I use oatmeal about half inch with a sprinkle of active dry yeast.

Thank you Goldfishman (I will try to add some oakmeal in and yeast like you say)

Thank you Jeff (I do about the same thing you said).
