Hey guys, so I was just wondering....what is the best way to move with bettas for about a 45 minute drive. My betta and 4 neon tetras live together in a cycled 10g. What do you think would be the best way to move with them? Thanks!

I had a Betta at work and decided to take her home, I still had the cup she came in from the store, so I put some of the tank water & her into it and drove her home. My drive was about 1-1/2 because of traffic. You could use just about anything that is clean, has a lid & a way for air to get into it with a small space at the top so the Bettas can get their gulp of air. Some people use rubbermaid storage containers appropriate for the fish they are moving. I would suggest keeping the current filter since it is seeded, make sure your keep it wet with tank water until you can get the tank set up at the new place otherwise you'll be going through the cycling process again. I agree- the biggest thing is to make sure the water doesn't get too hot or cold and the fish have access to air at the surface. I drop water levels, or transport in jars with a little hole in the lid. They can be lined up in boxes and carried easily that way. :) I have to move my whole set-up 100 miles in a few weeks.... all three clutches of fry, and all 20 adults. Sigh. Fingers crossed for us both! :)
