Goodbye Alpheios...

I still haven't quite processed it, but Alpheios passed on yesterday. I don't even know what happened as I had to go out of town for a week. A dear and trusted friend was caring for him while I was away.

I'd written out very specific instructions, made a very detailed list, and even showed her how to care for him. She's kept fish of her own before, so she does have some experience with fishkeeping. I called her yesterday on my way home and she told me she'd found him deceased and that she'd taken care of the remains so I wouldn't have to do it when I got home.

I'm going to miss my sweet boy.
