bubbles!!

my little bro has noticed bubbles on my Gatsby's tank.
do Betta fish release any type of things??

also we put his gold fish in Gatsby's old 1 gl. tank and their eyes swelled up a lot!!! because we didn't wash the tank out since we had just changed the water 5 hours ago.

The bubble are probably a bubble nest. What size tank and do you have a heater in there?

As for the goldfish, the common misconception is that they actually fit in tiny tanks. Very untrue, anything less than a 20-29 gallon is inappropriate for a single goldfish due to the huge amounts of waste they produce. I don't know about the eyes (high ammonia levels?)but you'll have worse problems if you don't either find a new home or invest in a MUCH bigger tank. Can you get a liquid test kit like the API freshwater kit and do the tests then post the results?

bubbles!!

he doesn't have a heater yet but he'll have one by the end of the week.
and he lives in a ten gallon tank. the nest, does that mean hes ready to mate??
and if so is it wise to get him a female?? =[

no it doesnt mean he needs a female. it just is a sign that is happy/healthy. unless you did all the reserch at breeding dont try it. its a complicated process not just drop girl in tank with guy and what them...

And the goldfish (probably technically shouldn't be asking about them here but I will anyways)? What are your long term plans for them?
