If you want to grow your own betta you should go through a local breeder. PetCo's babies are horribly stunted and starved. They most likely will have health issues their whole lives.

That's awesome! I have yet to own one of my own, but I've done volunteer work & really love working w/the pit bulls! Great personalities! Once my biggest baby (Jack the cat in the photo) passes on to Kitty Heaven one day I hope to own one. Not that I am hoping to speed his demise, quite the opposite. For as big as he is, Jack's kind of a wimp. Very afraid of all dogs. Love him for who he is :)

Thanks everyone for the advice! Sorry for the late reply (im on a college tour on the west coast and I have been very busy) I will hopefully make my decision when I get back home around tuesday so that I have time to take care of my baby betta when I first get it (if i get it) anything else I should know about caring for a baby??
