4 pellets every other day is fine. I would do 2 pellets, just to reduce ammonia. 2 pellets a day is good for normal feeding, but bettas do well with some fasting. They can go 2 weeks w/o eating anyhting and be okay.

I also left my betta in his five gallon recently and had him fed but the light was off and when I came how my plants were dead, dead, dead. For the most part anyway. But leaving the lights on constantly uses quite a bit of electricity so I guess its your call. You could rotate and have lights on 2 days then off the next

Thanx Would it be ok having the light on constantly? im really not sure i dont mind about the electricity i dont think they use much on the other hand the plants dying would not be good for the fish im so undecided.

Leavign the lights on is bad for the betta. Just put the plants in a bowl in the sunlight lol. A few days of dark is fine for a betta, a fw days of light... not so much lmao.

You don't have to feed him. They can survive a week without food, even more.

Yeah, it should be fine. Even a pellet a day is good enough. Whatever you choose, I hope it works.
