Is it safe to use Kordon Rid Ich on otos? They don't have ich but the girls kinda do and I don't know where else to put the otos. Tried high heat and the poor things almost passed out. The otos, I mean.

Tiki, Flora Sun is ZooMed's plant lightbulb. It's, uhm, 55K but has more in the red and blue spectrum. Best if you have a double fluorescent fixture so you can combine the Flora Sun with a full-spectrum daylight bulb.

Wouldn't a datnioid be too big for a 55gal? Not sure I'd want to spend like $26 for a fish Sparky might shock to death. When or if I get to upgrade to a 180 or more, then I can have some real fun.

I want mouthbrooders but they're all too big for my 20gal except for wild bettas. Wild bettas want soft water and lotsa plants. Don't want to mess with plants anymore. I still wonder if I can't put 3-4 pseudotropheus socolofi in there. Otherwise, I guess I'll go with 2 convicts. :/

Emma went to the vet Friday. 24 hrs on twice daily aintibotics and I think I don't see anymore blood. Either that or considerably less blood. She has 5-6 more days left of antibiotics.

I want clams too but I'm worried they'd just die. I think they're hard to feed.

A regular T8 fluorescent bulb, the kind that comes with Aqueon's deluxe hood or light strip, is considered low light to medium light. A T5 light, which is a lot skinnier but costs a lot more, is considered high light. Incandescent light (what comes with Aqueon's economy hoods) is considered worthless.

Arowanas really are cool but I'd be afraid of it jumping out. They're supposed to be really, really good and really strong jumpers.

A) get rid of all the fish and start again but try to salvage the plants
Stocking list
1 raphael catfish because it loves snails and I'd only need one instead of several like with loaches
1 siamese algae eater for the algae
2 dwarf cichlids of some sort (possibly apistogramma borelli)
5-8 hatchetfish for the top

B) get rid of all the fish AND plants
Stocking list
2 convict cichlids
or
2 buffalohead cichlids

the blurb on that website says you don't need to feed them, they filter feed and 'eat waste' o.O but i bet you have to supplement them with something
