crowntail spines are curling

my fish freidrich's spines have been regrowing after they were badly damaged from his old owner's tank water. but recently they have begun to have kinks and curl in them. what is causing this?

it can be the new fin growth, or that you have hard water(many dissolved minerals ), either way, nothing to really worry about :)
