Perseusmom: I've heard about the Prime water conditioner and I'm probably going to get that one. :)

Aw man the power outage sucks. :(

I was recommended to try a product called nutrafin cycle. And to do 25% once a week water changes. Have any of you heard of the nutrafin product?

Oh I've heard of it. It doesn't really help with the cycle. It "Adds" the BB you need but it doesn't. Just stick to the 2 water changes per week.

Hey guys, as you might know I finally got my betta and I've been checking the ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate levels. It seems that they have all been staying at 0ppm. Should I still do a water change or wait for them to go up?

You should wait. No point in changing water if theres nothing to it. Are you sure there isn't anything there?

Ok. Yup I used the API Kit. It's kind of hard to tell for the ammonia. It might be 0.25 ppm but it looks pretty yellow. :S

Ya lol I know right? :P

I guess I'll keep checking daily and then change it when it is very clear that it is @ .25ppm or higher.

Are you doing a fish-in...? I forgot. Whoops... If you are, the goal is to keep the ammonia .25 and less. Ammonia was greenish yellowish and I don't know if my cycle is done or not. :S
