New light makes tank foggy

I have three tanks and two of them are the same exact 2.5 gal betta tank kit, a little while a go the light bulb on one of them stopped working I had a light bulb of the same size laying around the house the only difference is it was 2 more watts than the one the tank came with, It looked a little brighter but that was it. I've noticed that I few days after I change the water in the tank every week the water looks foggy in that tank with the new lightbulb but not the other one. I'm not sure if the water itself is foggy or the light just makes it look foggy because when I turn the light off it seems like the water is normal again. Just to be sure what would be going on in the water if it got foggy because of the brighter light, would that be harmful for him in there? should I consider getting a new light thats the same watts as the original one?

Hmmm... interesting. A light that looks or makes the water foggy...

I would try a new lightbulb. If this doesn't work, if you have a filter, then I would rinse it off. The light may not be the problem...

Good thing this is an easy fix! Hope I helped out. :D

Thanks! I had one similar to that yellow one- I changed the picture now to my newest betta from Petco TODAY (named Emperor).

As for where to buy... well, I'm just guessing, but do you have the Aqueon 2.5 Gallon Betta Kit?
