Baffling Intake and Output?

So, I have this wretched filter that came with my starter kit on my fave gallon : http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...3028&lmdn=Size I absolutely hate how the intake, AND output are both very strong, I found my last betta stuck to the grate, more than once, and he got pushed around by the output every time he swam by It made feeding hard too! I've taken it out for the time being until I can get it proper baffled! Any have this filter, and know how to baffle it? I'm pretty clueless with this, and don't know what to do with it!! I've never had to baffle a filter in my short life so far!

Another reason I haven't put it in yet, is I have a halfmoon now, and he isn't quite as strong of swimmer as my VT I had...

I would suggest a chunk of sponge and a rubber band/string. Not really much else to try.

Lucile is right. It ain't elegant, but it works fine.

By sponge, I'm sure she means filter foam.

So put filter foam around the output, and intake? And use the rubberbands to keep it in place?

I have that same filter and have the same problem. I am trying to find a good way to baffle it myself. I do not know what filter foam is or even how to attempt to put it on. But it does seem like a better idea then the plastic bottle. The sharp edges worry me.

Or if you did use the bottle thing, you could take filter foam, and line the sharp edges with it...
