When Renge met Mary Jane.

I didn't want to jynx myself by posting anything, but I think it's safe now. I've got fry!

This is my second attempt, and it's going great! Renge, a multi-colored crowntail and Mary Jane (MJ), a mostly green (some blue on the fens) crowntail where my ideal pair. I had tried with my double tail, Manson, but he wasn't interested in MJ. Renge, however, is head over fins in love and they where all over eachother within a few hours of releasing MJ from her holding cell (aka a cut down 2 leader).

The fry just hatched today and I've set up BBS which should hatch by morning. But who cares about all that.. pictures!!

Some close ups of the fry hanging on for dear life. Don't worry, Renge is a great father and is doing a wonderful job of tending to his bug eyed bundle.

I'll update as I get more pictures. *does the happy dance*

Tell me about it. I'm so scared I'm going to feed them too late... I'm checking them every hour for free swimming. They hatched a day before I thought they would so it's thrown me way off!

OK I can't figure this one out, so maybe some experienced breeders could help me, please?

The spawn took place between noon and 6 PM sunday. They where together for a day before I caught them going at it, and I was watching pretty close (no laughing). It's possible they spawned saturday as well.

Well on Monday I found fry. It freaked me out. Just hanging all over the place And today, Tuesday.. I've got free swimmers. Only a handful, maybe 10, but still.. should I feed these guys? I'm not sure HOW they came this far this fast. It is normal? Are my numbers way off? Whaaaahh!!

Congrats on free swimmers! Update us with pictures, I can't wait to see them!
Hey, calm down, you're doing fine. Feed them tomorrow or the day after, and keep a sharp eye on those fish.

I guess I'm just stressing, it's just so early I didn't think I'd be feeding them yet, and there are so many still hanging, I can't take the father out. Blah.

But thanks. And yeah, I'll get more pictures :)

Just a quick vid of dad taking care of his fry. He's such a good father <3 Took this early this afternoon.

Oh, and that's some extreme pool show in the background.. kinda fitting, huh?
