Snails in tank

I put live plants in my tank a month and a half ago and just now starting to see some little snails popping up. I QT the plants, some Hornwort and Anacharis and thought I got all of them off and into their own bowl with lid. I do not over feed Perseus and he always eats his pellets but every now and then one will sink before he gets it but besides I have no algae so what are these tiny guys eating to survive ?

Anyway I guess I will start doing the veggie trick overnight cause I dont want them in his tank ! Since I have kept the others in their own bowl I have seen how messy they are and pooping all the time...lol They are cute though and fun to watch and I can always take them to the big pond if I get to many, they are Pond snails I guess. What veggie is best to use overnight ? Thanks !

Cucumber/zuchinni/pea I've used all, something larger for you to grab out would be a good idea
