Tank Cleaning

I am just curious how often you do 100% water changes and takes things out and clean the tank etc
Also my tank has been cycling for 5ish days now and I want to make sure I am still supposed to be making the 25% - 50% water changes every day
at this point I have no test kit but when I do will i only make changes if the numbers indicate that i need to? and at that point will i need to test everyday?(If so for how long do i test everyday?)
Also is it normal for it to have a bit of a fishy smell its not like an overwhelmingly nasty smell but it is something I ca smell if i stick my nose to the open tank

Thanks!

If it's filtered, you don't need to do 100% changes. :D You don't need to do changes daily, 2x per week at the least. Testing every other day is sufficient. Not sure about the smell but Lebron's tank just smells like aquarium water. Doesn't really stink, though.

Oh okay its hard to know which site exactly to follow for cycling i read they were daily changes until the the nitrate and ammonia levels were at zero but that seemed a bit much...

I have NEVER owned a fish before to know what "aquarium water" smells like I mean its not stinking up the entire room or anything it just kind of smells a little like a fish

Yeah, daily changes would kinda stress the fish. Well, aquarium water doesn't smell bad, it's just... A faint good fishy smell. It's hard to explain. :I
