Multiple Bettas

You mean a lone pair? Interesting idea, LBF. I've wanted to experiment with this whole male in a sorority thing (once I have room to start keeping more betta fish). I've read a lot of what Darkmoon had to say about them, and did plan on discussing it personally with her before attempting it. Might be a bit down the road if until I get more betta, though..

I agree that males kept together do often get damaged, long flowing fins are easy to grab even in a small skirmish. It'd be interesting to see a line of plakat betta breed to be non-aggressive.

i think within the next few decades it could be done with the King Betta genetic line. in my experience, and from everything i've read, they are FAR more docile than any other line, and if that trait is repeatedly selected (as i believe Petco, the originators of the line) are trying to do, we could, if not in our lifetimes, at least in our children's lifetimes, see a male betta fish that could be kept with other males safely.

I think it takes a lot of time assessing individuals for breeding a personality in- doubt Petco is doing that, theirs is probably just coincidence.
