It's going to be harder in the winter since it's a small bowl it's very hard to heat, if you can fit a heater in there, and maybe a small filter depending if the 1 gallon is rectangle or something, it'll be better for less water changes. As long as a heater can be fit it wont be bad, but I do not recommend this because a 1 gallon is pretty small, and it's hard to heat, and because you don't have a filter your going to have to keep doing water changes and if you don't have a heater as well it'll be harder to get the water at the right temperature, and then soon enough the water will go cold. It'll be tough, and for a baby even harder.

Yeah..... I know THAT at least.... But I've been saying After winter... So not during winter....
