Divided 5 gallons

Anyone got pictures of their's? Is it cycled? Did you make the divider? How often do you do water changes, and how much water do you change? Did the fish enjoy it? Was it any trouble to maintain?

I have two divided 5 gallons, both currently cycled with homemade dividers. One i have had for coming up on three years(its been broken down and cleaned/moved a couple of times but was one of my very first divided tanks)and the other I bought and set up earlier this year.

I personally find that my fish have plenty of space to swim about and do their adorable little fishy things. I've never had any issues at all with someone getting over or through the divider in either tank, even with all the fish I've kept over the years in the first one, and everyones always seemed to be happy and healthy.

I do one partial water change per week, roughly 30-40% or so. When I first set up my first one, I had a little trouble fitting the siphon in the sections, but after picking up a smaller siphon and getting a little creative with hooking it up to my python I haven't had any trouble cleaning it.

Don't mind the random explosion of stuff in the middle xD.....I'm also planning on redoing both these tanks with sand within the next week or two.

Anywho, I think I got to all your questions.....? xD Its a little early in the morning for me, I apologize if I missed something.
But overall, I've had great experiences and luck with my divided 5 gallons and I've never had a fish that had trouble with them....though like with any divided tank, it doesn't always work best for every keeper or fish, so it all depends really.

Here's my divided 5.5g. (I think it's 5.5) anyway. I made the divider using this turotial- http://www.tropicalfishkeeping.com/d...ividers-21866/ and instead of the bend I put the report binder on all 4 sides for better strength.
I have not had anyone jump over or even budge it, and I don't have a lot of gravel so that goes to show it's strength The water looks so dark because I always always use indian almond leaves. My VT Ludendooff has completely stopped biting his tail and enlarges his bubble nest every day. I found this set-up has made them a lot happier.
As for it being cycled, I don't actually know. I don't have a test kit. I do, however, make weekly changes of about 40-50%.

Love the pics, thanks both of you! Yes you did answer all my questions! I have a divided 10 gallon, but just wanted to make sure a 5 gallon wasn't going to be too much trouble. I can definitely see that the fish have enough room to feel comfy.

Laki, did you have to cut the report binder?

Oh yes I did! Because obviously the width of the tank is smaller than the report. Just do it small amounts at a time because once you cut too much, you cannot fix it. It took me almost an hour or more to do mine because I was so meticulous and cut it line by line on the mesh and only small amounts on the report binder. This might be overcome if you actually trouble yourself with measuring things. (I never measure)

I don't measure either! It's even harder when there's already water in the tank because it's cycling. What did you use to cut the report binder?

scissors. It was easy to cut kind of, it mostly bent with the scissors and I didn't get a straight cut but it fits!
