Ghost Shrimp Killer

Soo I come home today from school and I see my CT Vulcan has ripped the head off his tank buddy lol they were doing fine for like 3 weeks and now this? He was just hovering over the dead shrimp like he didnt want me to see it and laying on top of it. He was breathing kinda hard but I dont see any damage. He doesnt seem bloated and is swimming around just fine. Should I be worried? Should I not feed him to see if he is backed up in case he did eat part of the shrimp? Dont think im going to get him anymore tank mates haha

Best remove the exoskeleton of the shrimp and check for signs of choking ok?

That tends to be the eventual result of bettas being housed with shrimp/snails, it's nothing to worry about and it doesn't sound like your fish was injured. He probably enjoyed his nice fresh snack.

Yea that is what I was thinking cause the shrimp seemed like it just molted. Dont get me wrong Greyhound it is sad I liked the fact that the shrimp ate the food that floated to the bottom, but I really didnt think that was going to happen. They were living in peace and harmony and in 3 hours... no more. At least hes instincts are on point.
