It looks good but personally I like to have at least one plant that is close to the surface - so they can hide in it or rest on it and be near the surface. If you like plastic plants - tetra's water wonder plants float nicely if you take off the plastic thing that is used to anchor the plant into the gravel. I like the more bushy ones

zoo med also makes plastic ones that suction cup to the tank. I place them low enough that the whole thing is just barely covered with water. They have other kinds but this one has the softest branches and sometimes I catch someone resting in it

I was just wondering if these plants last long or have any metal rods or metal anything in the stem. (cuz my betta leaves all have that rusting metal rod, and i heard the floating log keeps leaking the paint into the water) I was a bit sceptical about using anything else zoo med. but i did see this at the stores the other day and was debating whether to give it a try or not.

I too was going to chime in about something floaty or a leaf hammock or a DIY hammock . . only because my bettas LOVE any and all of those. I like everything else you've got going on in there.

If you have a light you could just buy an anubia to float in there. I even have some some Petco random plants that are still alive after several months and I float everything in a mass at the top and my fish rest on the tangle of plants.

But soft fake ones, a hammock . .. anything that lets them rest up by the surface is cool. There are several options.

Do you guys think it's okay for me to bring betta home tommorrow first and a week after I add the Salvia plant? The pet store that does sell them is closed tommrow but I REALLLYY want to get my betta tmrw, but the week lon wait os so he can get used to his new surroundings then i add the plant. (instead of just one day of accustomed then the next day something changed again right away)
