**** wont eat ****

I had three bettas. One died. One trys to eat but spits it out and swimms normally. The other lies on the bottom of the tank and wont eat. I thought it was the new tank but it has been a few days and no change. I cant stand another dying PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

first off welcome to fish forum. Ok if he spits it out then i think he doesnt like it, unless he spits it out and then puts it back in his mouth. If one is lying on the bottom, he could be sick or he could be getting used to his new home, just give it a few more days, put a little bit of food in the tank today, and then not feed them tommorow since they wont eat, then try again the next day, keep doing that until u see them eating, they may just be getting used to it, or they might not like the food.

What are you feeding them? And... are they in the same tank? O_O

one may not be eating bcuz he is not liking the food. bettas are extreamly picky. ya might have to try various types and brands of flakes/pellets until you get one he likes.

do you have a heater in your tanks. what are their sizes? bettas are tropical and need a warm 78 degree enviorment. if they dont have that they become lethargic and inactive and not as healthy and happy as they could be

For the not eating betta, he needs to learn to eat what you give him. Offer it every night, and he will eventually take it. The betta laying down is obviosuly suffering from cold water. A heater will fix this up.
