lol actually I've had him for 8 months now, so he must be fully grown. But it's hard not to feed them a lot. They always look so hungry!

Feed till the fish is slightly rounded. Not like ate a marble.. but round. I do the 2x daily on my adults. Every once in a while they miss a feeding.. but I try to keep them round and look for them being off food or getting skinny along the top line.

My juvies get food every time I walk by.. a few pellets here, a few more there.. lol. Kinda like mother nature and bugs coming but. Keeps them growing without stuffing them.

I would spread his feeding out like...3 pellets in the morning and 3 or 4 at night. He is a pretty guy looks fine to me.

@Basementbettas: How many pellets does it usually take to get your bettas rounded?

@Perseusmom: Well I feed him 4 pellets once a day and if he looks fine, why would I need to add a second feeding? BTW thank you, he is my little pretty boy XD

Well I was just told by a breeder that just like us we get sleepy when were full and when we sleep our body intakes and restore what we eat. So 2 or 3 pellets in the morning and 3 to 4 at night...does that make sense to you ? What pellets are you using ? I guess some are bigger or smaller then others. But more at night is a good thing...get it ?

Oh okay just read the first post and you use NLS...they are fairly tiny so I would do 2 or 3 in the morning and 4 at night...try and see how that works for him, if it seems to much cut down to 2 in the morning and 3 at night. All Bettas just like people are going to be different, some thin some not to thin some to fat...lol But unlike people we can control their diet so just try and work it out and see how much he needs to stay the right size you think he should be.
