Anacharis surprise...

I just got some Anacharis about 5 days ago, and it came with a surprise of snails. How could I get rid of them!? I'm really annoyed that I just found 6 of them and am worried it will be over running my tanks.

i've heard you can stem their population by taking an empty (clean) glass salt or pepper shaker, put a leaf of spinach or lettuce in it, and put it in your tank overnight. supposedly it will attract the snails to it, and in the morning you just dump the snails out. it won't get rid of the eggs, but unless your tank is big enough for loaches, i've heard it's the most effective way to get rid of large numbers of snails at once.

use something to lure them - like cucumber and then toss out the cucumber with snails on it. however i have noticed my snails wont eat the veggies unless they are...deteroriating. You might need to leave the cucumber in there for 2 days or so

Of you use the API plant food for your tank the potassium in the solution will kill the snail... I killed my mysteries by accident like that... If not a loach or assassin snail will help kill them for sure.. Good Luck!!!

I had this happen to me as well, but luckily it was in my QT. I was slowly removed the snails everyday as I saw them. I also cleaned the entire plant under running water several time.
