Hey all. I've noticed some white, cottony stuff on my crowntail's fins. I first noticed it several days ago, but it was so minimal I honestly thought he had maybe picked up a bit of poo on himself or something. But now, I notice it on ALL of his fins, not just his pectoral fin. Nothing has changed about his behavior, energy, or appetite, I just noticed these cottony white bits on the very edge of his tail fin and one of his pectoral fins. I can't get him to stay still long enough to get a good picture, sorry. The stuff is very fine, too, so it's difficult to see unless you are right up against the tank staring at him.
Anyway, I am thinking it is a fungal infection, maybe? Or would this be external parasites? Again, the fish is not behaving oddly, and his appetite is as good as ever. I did a 100% water change today, but I have not yet added anything other than conditioner to his water.

Symptoms and Treatment
How has your betta fish's appearance changed? White cottony bits on the very tips of his fins... left pectoral and tail
How has your betta fish's behavior changed? It hasn't changed
When did you start noticing the symptoms? A few days ago... they have progressed during the past few days.
Have you started treating your fish? If so, how? No, I am seeking advice first
Does your fish have any history of being ill? Not ill, but he had ripped his fin when I first got him. It is healing nicely at this point and is almost completely back to normal.
How old is your fish (approximately)? I am unsure. I have had him for a month and a half. I think he was very young when I got him from the pet store; he has grown at least a half inch in body size since I got him.
On a side note, can anyone tell me if it is safe to use the same gravel vac between this fish's tank and my other one? I wouldn't want to get my other fish sick, but I'm not sure if using the same gravel vac would do that. Any insight? Thanks!
