Guppies are not anabantoid fish, that's Gouramis XD

The bettas don't like guppies because of their large colourful tails. They see it as a threat.

EDIT: If you do not have a filter and no live plants, a 100% water change is necessary. If you add a filter and cycle it, you won't need to do a 100% water change

Only bad if your tank is cycled.
Your tank isn't cycled, you can learn how to cycle it but you need to have a filter and you need to have a liquid test kit, I reccomend the API liquid test kit.

It's bad to not do them in an uncycled tank because the ammonia will accumulate and kill/poison the fish if you don't do 100%s

I believe 100% changes are only not recommended when you have a cycled filter and tank, which means you have a filter and you have let the tank accumulate bacteria that eats the ammonia, then bacteria that eats the nitrites grows as well creating a mini ecosystem. If you change too much of that water, you risk disrupting your cycle!
