Pickle lost a fin

Yesterday he had his left fin and was swimming around normally. Today, it was gone and he is very listless.

I just recently cleaned the tank, new filter, keep the water at the right temp, and havent changed any of the conditions ever sinc ewe got him. I am wondering fi I shoudl just prepare for the worst or will he grow it back...I dunno.

Thoughts?

Are you sure it's not clamped to the side?

Do you mean his pectoral fin?
If so, I doubt they just "fall off"

Either something completely ripped it off, or you just can't see it clamped to his side, especially if it's transparent.

ANything I can do for him? My fiance is calling him a cripple and insisting I flush him and get it over with. I am refusing but it is causing a bit of tension in the house.

don't flush him! D8

You should never flush a fish, and burial should only be when the fish is DEAD.

I don't have any expeerience on this, but they might grow back. Just try to find out what caused the tear and take it out.

If this is the same as a ripped fin, Give your fish a lot of clean water to help heal. I think AQ salt also might help...
