There are 2 kinds of columnaris - one that is fast acting and one that is slow moving.
If it is columnaris - you can try Furan 2 or kannaplex. Alot of people say use maracyn and maracyn 2 but I had to massivly OD the fish to get that to work - something to do with it being less effective in certain types of water.

I usually search amazon or ebay for my meds.

If it was columnaris, why is it leaving my platies and platy fry alone?

I have no idea...

When I had a girl with it - it started out as just some fuzz on her fins, then she got white patches on her back (in a saddleback formation). These patches then looked like they were being eatten away be something, the scales were gone leaving leasions behind. She then pineconed and died shortly after.

She started like this

then

and finally

she pineconed and then died shortly after. Not sure if it was columnaris but I think it was

Columnaris is also know as the cotton mouth disease but since its supposed to be highly contagious, I would imagine some other fish would of caught it as well...?

The only other thins I can think of is a fungus or ick. Maybe sakura would know
