That new acquisition looks great! Kudos to you!

Is that a male with the sorority or is it my eyes? How did you manage them getting peacefully?

Yes, it is indeed a male. When I decided to set the tank up, I picked up 4 young "females" from petco. I had them for a few weeks before I finally got shelves that had the ability to hold a 20 gallon tank. I put them in there, there was some squabbling at first but that was it. They all grew up like weeds in the 20G into pretty female fishies - except the blue one. He kept growing...right into a male! I know its a risk keeping him in there but keeping females together is also a risk. Since I have not seen any aggression from any of them, I decided to keep him in there for now. I do not know why he is so mellow. Maybe putting them together when they were still very young had something to do with it. I really do not know. Personally, I think he is gay. I don't even get a bubblenest from him and he is in a tank with 5 females LOL

I have tried breeding in the past and its pretty brutal. I have seen nothing that even comes close to that with my..er...harem.

His name is Ba Sing Se and he looked like this when I got him:

And he is failing miserably at his manly duties. No breeding strips on the girls and no bubblenests from him
