what you COULD do, is get the silk plants and decor, like suggested, and once a week, move them around. even if you don't do full water changes, or even 50%, taking him out and moving things around a bit might keep him entertained enough to stop the biting.
or, you could have a chronic biter, like i have. my DTHM NEVER stops. 8I he's like... this tiny thing with almost no tail on one tail, half a tail on the other. no amount of rearranging stops him. 8I i just let him be. he's happy with his shredded tails, so am i.

do you have plants that you take out and then put new ones in? or just rearrange the ones in the tank? I just put two decorations in that I had taken out (theyre fairly tall) so hopefully that'll keep him entertained for a bit. I also moved some of his other decorations around.
I sure hope he isn't a chronic tail biter but he has been having this problem for a long time so maybe he is. Hopefully moving all his decorations around will help.
Thank you and everyone else! Hopefully he calms down a bit with his new environment
