Does anyone know of any cold meds without pain meds?

My husband just got a cold, and I am bound to get it. The problem is that I am allergic to both acetominophen (Tylenol) and Ibuprofen. That means, as far as I know, I cannot take ANYTHING for a cold, which is downright miserable (especially since I cannot afford to take two weeks off of school and research).

Are there any meds without pain relievers in them?

I'd try getting sudafed. It's just a decongestant, so no pain meds :)

There are herb teas like echinacea that you can use.

Try zicam, it's supposed to help prevent colds but does help you get over them faster. Well it did for me at least.

I love super spicy foods and chicken soup with plenty of fat and garlic when I get a cold.

The only thing I can suggest is going to the pharmacy and reading all the cold med boxes until you find something that doesn't have acetominophen or ibuprofen. It's what do since I can't have anything with pseudoepinephrine. Allergy season and cold season are both fun for me. So much fun. T_T

Bah. EVERYTHING at the pharmacy had one or the other. Hubby has a 103 fever (well before he took something for it). I really can't afford to get this. :(

If that is the case, you may be able to boost your immune system with suppliments. I personally use Vitamin C and herbal teas during the flu and cold season.
