Aquascaping with moss?

Christmas moss looks lovely anyway, but attached to rocks it'd probably make a really nice affect! <3

lol I can't wait to get some now, so many plans XD don't know which ones to go with!
I 'was' just going to have it on wood but the idea of a carpet is tempting now.


Also sarah I know exactly what you mean lol, the amount of times I've had to pull strands of thread off my anubias that's rotted and broke.
Luckily by this time the anibias has rooted well anyway.
It'd be a bit of a disaster with moss though I imagine since it's not really one solid plant like anibias is.

You can also use nylon netting (you can get this at a fabric store) to hold down the moss (you'd still have to tie that in place), the moss will just grow through the holes.

I picked up some yesterday to use with a moss wall :)

I'd never thought about nylon netting! that's an awesome idea!
I might have to try that! :D
I don't really mind how it looks short term, as long as the moss grows its not like the netting's going to be in there more than a few months (or weeks, how ever quick/slow it takes)

Thanks saraspins I didnt know cotton would rot underwater in a very short time. Would rubberbands be okay to use if they were boiled first ?

I got a feeling they rot too.
A friend of mine had to put an elastic band on her filter to keep it on its holder and I think it rotted.
That or her fish had a taste for rubber :D
