I woke up to something terrible this morning!

This morning when I woke up I found that my beautiful super long fin half-moon did some terrible things to his own tail. :(
I always leave a dim light on like a reflective moon light and he's never done this before but today I have no idea, but he just did it. I always re arrange and what-not and I know no matter how much pro you are at betta keeping this is beyond anyone's control. :( Now I need to start a healing trial.

Calm down, he bit his tail. All you need is warm water and AQS to heal it

Fishie started biting his tail recently, too, and I'm super sad about it. I know it will heal but I'm afraid he will continue to do it. Someone told me to use Stress Coat and Aquarium salt.

Aw, I am so sorry!

It's their rebellion against the tyranny of beauty.

What is the current like in his tank?

If it's just a tail bite, you don't need to use salt. Just add a bit of stress coat and keep his water extra clean over the next few days.

I wonder if there is a thread around named "Those dang HM tail-biters" x3

It's like us, when our hairs are long we need a hair cut because it gets heavy, it's the same thing with bettas his tail looks long and heavy, that's why he probably bitten it, giving a trim so he can swim better, he might bite it more to shorten it more because in the picture it's long and heavy looking. Beautiful betta, don't worry it'll grow back, that's why they bite there tails, clean water & AQ will heal them.
