Breeder interviews.. got ideas for questions to ask?

AS some of you may know, im a part of the newsletter the betta fish bi weekly on the forum...

anyways.. we were thinking of doing a "Meet the breeder" section, and ask them to send in pics of their set ups/fish room, supplies and all that fun stuff. As well as asking them questions... for example..

What advice do you have for new breeders?
How much time does it take for you to care for your breeding stock per day?

Do any of you have any ideas for other questions to be included in this? Thanks.

What kinds of things some might do on the side to give their betta that extra kick of healthy-ness, what other things they do that may be unique to them that someone can develope into their own stye~

The rewards of breeding bettas (and not really just selling them for profit).

Strangest breeding moment? Best LOL-breeding moment?

Problems they might face ..... I mean unexpected, not regular, not caused by poor husbandry..... that kind of problem - like incompatible genetics, super "killers", etc ..... problems that can't be predicted.

What are your best ways of preventing deformities when line breeding?

What are your personal goals with your breeding stock?

What is your personal prefference of tail type? Why?

What made you want to breed bettas?

Did you ever think you would grow to love fish as much as you do?

Do you remeber your first betta? Can you describe it?

Can you describe your most memerable betta? (either bred by you/a pet/a breeder/ect.)

Can you remember your first spawn? What tail types were they and how many fry did you result in?

Would you consider yourself an expert? If so, why? If not, Why not?

What were your biggest troubles as a breeder with your first spawn. Have you figured out how to overcome it? If so, how did you do so?

What was your largest spawn since you began breeding? How many?

Do you have a certain precedure/routine you do when breeding?

What kind of breeder are you? An experimental breeder, A "for fun" breeder, or a Show breeder?

Do you take pride in your stock and resulting fry? Why?

What is your personal opinion on breeding for profit?

What is your personal opinion on breeding for shows? How do shows benefit you? (If you are a show breeder)

Are you an IBC member? For how long? What are your best experiences of being in the IBC (If you are one)

What are the benefits of being in the IBC? Would you recommend joining?

What is at Least 1 negative about the IBC or Joining the IBC?

What do you dislike about the IBC? (There has to be something you just might not feel comfortable about)

These are pretty good questions..The list can go on, but these seem to interest me (as a breeder) and I'm sure is a starting point with really getting to know the breeder. I'm sure many breeders themselves would love to know these things about other breeders.

Fabulous questions! So far I have breeders such as Karen Mac Auley, Lori Green, Gerald Griffen, And Richard Laughery willing to do interviews.

I'll get an official questionnaire typed up today!!
