At UF I think I'm allowed to have fish and frogs and the biggest container/cage I can keep them in is 3' long 2' wide and 2' tall. That's WAY bigger than my 10gallon! I'll put my fish and frogs in containers like these and put my plants in a bucket :) as long as I have the filter, I shouldn't worry about having to recycle my tank??

Correct; I would put the gravel/substrate from the tank into the bucket along with the plants and the filter cartridge (these contain the most of your cycled bacteria). Then add just enough water (preferably old water from the aquarium) to cover the substrate and filter (the bacteria dies if it's out of water for too long). :)

What a great idea for travel. If ever I have to take my fish on the road I'll keep this in mind. I was trying to figure out if I went on tour for longer than a month how to bring a fish with us, wouldn't be this way though.
