First Bubble Nest!

I woke up this morning and Bradbury had created a bubble nest!



I was so excited.

Well we all LOVE bubble nests! And what a nest that is, he must be one happy boy!

CONGRATULATIONS!! But I'm afraid nests don't mean happiness. :\ It just means they're ready to breed or protecting territory. Big nest, though. Lebron's nests is only half the size!!

my Vlad seems to use his bubblenests as a barrier...he always builds a big one in the middle of the tank, and then a smaller one right on the divider, almost like it's gonna keep Rasputin away :)

I'm glad you guys do. I spent the day with my friend who giggled at me every timed I mentioned it. I'm sure it was due to how I mentioned it. What with the grinning, and the bouncing, and the occasional squee... I'm so proud you'd think I built it myself.

It is just amazing to look at! I kind of hate that I didn't get to seem him build it. Can they be shy about building them?

I know a bubble nest does not mean he is happy, but since he is not sick I'm taking it as a sign that he feels at home enough to want to breed and protect his space. I've only had him for seven weeks.

That is so cool! Hmmm... I wondered about the placement when I saw it. I have a 5.5 gallon tank and the opening in the lid is very small. Bradbury put the nest right under the opening.

It really is. It almost took my breath away. Bradbury continues to amaze me, as do the fish I read about on this forum.

I hope some day my boy builds a bubble nest. I look forward to seeing him or looking at it but it seems he's not too territorial and does not care much for breeding. Though I think he's still too young.

Did you breed him, or buy him? Other than size how can you tell their age?
