Is there a heater to go with the thermometer? No sense watching the temperature of an unheated tank unless you live somewhere really warm, year round. His water must be stable and consistant at 78-82F.

From what I have read heaters don't really mix with a 1 gallon bowl. When I get a 5 or 10 gallon I will be getting a heater and filter though.

The thermometer I got so I can change temp in house for him. It is higher now. I like a cooler house, it is now not that house I like. Just for the fish lol. I can barely read the the thermometer ( I need new reading glasses)but I can tell it is in the green zone. And It was advertised for tropical fish. So guess it's good.

There are small bowl/tank heaters now. One is called zoomed betta therm. And then there's aqueon 7.5 watt and 10w (which I have and love) and there are other brands jumping on the bandwagon and releasing small tank heaters which are either 7.5w or 10w. They don't last long for their price (especially the zoomed one) but they're great to have around for temporary tanks and hospital tanks.
