Can I make this work?

Okay, so I have two new bettas, and 5 neon tetras thanks to my generous hubby wanting to make me feel better after losing two of my bettas. The two bettas shared a 10g divided tank. Right now the tank has two dividers so that the filter is in the center. If I remove one divider, will this leave enough room on one side for one betta with the tetras? I figure I can just put the other divider next to the other so the bettas can't interact as much. It is also a planted tank that has been running for a month. I am going to add more plants too.

Maybe to the bettas no to the tetras. 20 gallon is way better but a ten gallon will work if not divided. The tetras look a bit unhealthy. There will most likely be a high current there.
