Hello all!
Some of you may remember me from early 2012. I & one of my housemates rescued another housemate's betta from an old vodka bottle and nursed it back to health in a Hawkeye-style 1 gallon. The betta went with his owner (and all of his new toys, plastic plants, aquarium salt, food and treats, etc, when she moved away -- she was very attached to him. I hope he's doing well...
Having spent some months caring for a betta, I have definately been bitten by the betta bug, so I am preparing slowly to be well equipped and educated when the day comes for me to take in a betta of my own.
So far, I have gotten a couple of soft, smooth plastic plants (a large aquaculture amazon sword and an 8" Top Fin corkscrew, which I have lovingly trimmed to remove sharp edges) and a silk anubias, as well as a plastic colander that will be dedicated for rinsing aquarium-related items. I intend to get the Hawkeye-style 3 gallon cylinder aquarium with undergravel filter and LED light set. I want to make sure I have everything I need before I get the fish himself, so I'll be aquiring a heater, aquarium salt, Quick Cure, Prime conditioner, a gravel vac, etc in the coming weeks.
I have already decided his name will be Odysseus and he will be a royal blue spade or veil tail.
