Lightbulb Orange Dalmatian Crowntail??

Has anyone tried to breed them? It seems like it would be fairly easy: Cross a dalmatian halfmoon to an orange crowntail, then mate the offspring.

It's not easy as you think, this would take an experienced breeder to do this. Crossing a HM and CT together will bring deforms and shaggy rays. And once you perfect the line with from offspring x offspring, it will be Halfsuns instead of CTs. And besides, what dalmatian do you mean? There's a ton out there and it'll take even more lines to get the colors straight. This is a risk for hundreds of dollars...

(not my pic)

I thought CTxHM made slight reduction in webbing (halfsun)? Ah, well, always learning, LOL.

@Maddy; if you're willing to work on a line, then go for it. But as stated above it may take generations and ...... (don't know about money) ...... Just remember to concentrate on form first. Once you have that then reintroduce CT with the desired color.

If you can afford it, work with show bettas from the start (like the above picture) - that will save you the trouble of improving form (CT often does not have 180* spread).

Good luck.

I've decided to work on orange halfmoons first. If it all goes well, I'll try for orange dalmatian crowntails when I'm more experienced! :D Thanks for your input indjo and lebron!
