I just found a $20 gift card to Walmart in my wallet. Talk about a pleasant surprise!!
I was looking online for tanks and found this 10 gallon which is great because I want to do a sorority. Does anyone have experience with it? Obviously I'd get a lid and filter and heater but I was just wondering if anyone had used it. Some people said on the reviews that it leaked but I will be picking mine up from the store and will fill it and let it sit for 24 hrs first.
My cousin had this one for her son's goldfish. The fish died last summer (it was 5 years old) and has since packed it up. She says it worked great. Her's came with a lid that had a slot for a heater and a filter and a tank light, but she only bought a filter and light. I almost considered borrowing it for Fishy, but I really didn't have room for a 10 gallon tank, so I got a really nice 5 gallon one instead.
I had two male bettas in one with filter/heater. They all did great. (And yes, they were in together with no barrier and never once fought- though I don't recommend trying it, mine were anomalies.)
I like the looks of this one, too. It's a little extra but it comes with a filter and a hood with lights. I'm just worried about the filter being way to powerful. But I can always baffle it if need be. I could also do a divided tank as well...

Housing pairs and even males together is not that unheard of. Most of the wild strains of splendens do not fight like the ones everyone is used to. I house a pair together for nearly a year with no problems what so ever, as do many other breeders. As long as there is not 2 males and 1 female the male has no reason to fight.
The tank should be fine, leak check it and go. Most of the names changed on the manufacturers do to some company name changes. All-Glass was the biggest name in aquariums and now it is Aqueon.
Wish I had room for a 10 gallon. I was lucky to get a 3 gallon in my office. Any bigger and they might just say something to me. It should be fine once you leak check it. If you lived in my area, I'd give you a filter for it. I have a Whisper internal filter-too strong for my 3, but probably good for a 10. I also have a good cast iron 10 gallon stand with room on bottom for another one.
I'm really on the fence about getting another tank. My mother would just kill me. I have plenty of space for it but she would just DIE if I brought anymore fish things home. Guess I'll have to bribe her or something.
