Question Scared/Shy fishy?

I bought a 2 new baby CT's from a petstore i go to a lot a few days ago, and one is smaller than the other (Pearly). I put Pearly in a 1 gallon bowl since he's so small, it has a lot of space for him. Ever since i put Pearly in this bowl though, he hasnt been moving around often. I feed him normally, i've had him for 3 days now, he eats when i feed him too. But in his bowl, he stays in one position for about 5 minutes, then goes for air, moves a little, then repeats. My other 2 bettas are very active in their tanks, thats why i'm thinking something might be wrong. But then again, Pearly is so young, it might just be from that. Please help me lol, i love my fishies.

Yeah, I've noticed that if temps are on the low side, say 72 or cooler, their activity will decrease. When I bumped it up to 76ish I saw an increase of activity.

This is true, temp should remain around 77-79 degree range for them to stay active and healthy..if you don't have a heater, a small one would help, and a thermometer to watch in case of flucuations.

Since i live in Florida, the water temperature is always 79 or 80. I have a thermometer, when i get home i'll check his temperature.

I got home and when I checked on him, he seemed to be moving around more. I think he just needed to "warm up" to his new home ^.^ . He's still a shy fishy, I think he'll stay that way.

Some of them just take a little longer to settle in. I've noticed it more with males, my females all seemed to feel at home quicker. I had one male that every time I put him in a 1g tank he'd end up floating at the top like he was dead, I'd put him back in the cup & he'd be fine, it was very odd. Now he's in a 10g filtered & heated tank & happy as can be.
