Jaws

I am watching "Jaws" With my sister and she is still terrified of it. What was your reaction when you first saw it? Mine was to never going into the deep end of any body of water even pools.

I've always enjoyed horror movies. I've been watching them since I was a kid (around 4-5 years old).
Let's just say after watching Child's Play (Chucky) I wanted a Chucky doll.

I was really in phased by jaws. I remember watching it and going "huh there's a shark" maybe the first time I saw it I was too young to really understand it who knows.

Jaws does have an air of fear to it but it only adds to the irrational fear of sharks in general. while some do pose a threat to humans in certain cases, most are more fearful of humans. sharks are not to be taken lightly of but deserved s good deal of respect. i have had some momentary fear in various shark movies due the way they presented the scenes but thats about the limit of it.

sharks are apex predators and have their own proper place in the food chain. removing wolves left too many large herbivores alive and they in turn reduced living parameters for lower food chain species. it does irk me alot that many predatory species are unjustly hunted down due to overblown fear induced from culturaland media references.

loved the book, was disappointed by the movie. i hated the people they cast for the roles, and the fact that they cut out all of the backstory about the mayor's mafia connections and small-town corruption that the shark was actually supposed to be a metaphor for.

I liked Jaws 2 better than the first one. I remember going to see it the first time with my brother and a friend of his. Afterwards we went to McDonald 's and my brother and his friend ordered fish sandwiches. Lol

Well yeah because they only go for the obvious monster/evil. Its like Kubrick's awful adaptation of The Shining. The real evil isn't the hotel. The hotel is simply a manifestation of something far scarier and closer to home: a father trying to do right by his wife and young son and support them all the while fighting alcoholism and his failure as a writer after a promising start. Now you tell me which is scarier?
As for Jaws, I enjoyed the movie for what it was, separate from the book.

I loved the second one more too.
