Help please want to rescue!

How would you treat fin rot and swim bladder. Want to rescue but not sure how to help. He is lying on his side floating so I'm guess swim bladder???

I'm not sure about swim bladder, but you can treat fin rot with aquarium salt. It's 1 tsp per gallon for moderate fin rot. Continue treatment for up to 10 days, but no longer since it can be harmful. If this doesn't work you might have to try meds like Triple Sulfa or Maracyn 2.

AQ salt and frequent water changes and clean water should heal the fin issues.

Thank you guys. He is in a 1.5 heated QT tank. How often should I do water changes. I put AQ salt and stress coat. He took a big poop so I'm guessing he was super constipated and that's what caused the swelling. I will post pics soon! Thank you so much again!!!

Here he is...no name yet..I notice he took a big poop and is not floating on his side so much...yay...he swims here and there a bit..is water is warm at 82F





as soon as i put him in his QT tank he became more lively! I hope he will make it through the night.

He is no longer floating on his side..he is just swimming around. I'm guessing he needed warmer water to pass his poo..He was super constipated!

How often should i change his water? and how long is the treatment for finrot?

Im glad the temperature helped! you will want to use epsom salt for internal problems like swim bladder mext time ^___^ Aquarium salt is good for the rot though. it all depends on which one should be treated first. in this case constipation and swim bladder is usully te one you should look at :D

Should I continue to treat the constipation with epsom salt? I will be doing a full water change tonight.

how long exactly should he be in treatment? I've heard 10 days max.
So far this is all I've done

Day 1 10/13 - AQ salt, stress coat, prime, and water heated at 82F

Day 2 10/14 - Will perform a water change tonight. What should I use?

Sorry, I'm just super confused . I want him to heal up and be happy!

if hes recovered from swim bladder, I would just continue with Aq salt for ten days whilst being careful on his diet :)
healing fin rot just takes patience, I wish you the best of luck!

Thank you for your help. I came home and noticed this...His tank is at 82F Should i switch to epson now or stick with AQ? Here is better pic of his fin rot..
