So I turned up my filter, and out came a million bubbles?

Ok so I'd turned off the filter for about 5 minutes because there were really thick bubbles behind the output waterfall part. I thought my snail had laid eggs, as it's the only animal in the tank right now (though the bubbles weren't pink, I wasn't taking a chance that these were eggs lol). I scooped them out, put the filter back on - and more of these really thick bubbles come out! They have that thick "bubble nest" appearance to them that a betta's nest has.

Any explanation you can think of? What should I do?

Note: The tank was being medicated over the weekend, so the filter has no cartridge in it at the moment, because the carbon removes the medication.. Cause there were fish in it recently... but none that lay eggs lol.
