Hello everyone, I decided to finally introduce myself since I haven't gotten the chance to :P
I'm currently only 15 years old and have been keeping betta fish and been interested in these little fish since I was five.
It all started when I was 11 years old and bought my first betta fish, a red crown tail named 'Infection' from Walmart. I bought him a pity 1 gallon tank without a filter, heater and just one little plant. He had surprisingly lasted for a month until one day he had suddenly passed away. I had stopped with my betta fix after that until now, I recently bought a blue halfmoon named Neptune and gave him a lovely 7 gallon with one plant and a filter and he had come down with dropsy the next day and died. I was getting really upset now with these fish but after a few months I had gotten back into them, and this time, I was getting help.
I bought a 10 gallon with two plants and a LARGE skull, a heater and a filter and a hood with a light, the best betta food I could find and API water conditioner. A day passed before I had gotten my new lovely halfmoon double tail betta, though it took me a moment to realize he hated the filter so I currently have it turned off, I plan on possibly getting a sponge filter but right now I have spent over 60$ on him >_<, but he's a beautiful and happy betta and that's all that matters. (: It's a pleasure to be apart of this forum now and take advice from experienced betta keepers.
