Mosimo balls

My two mosimos have a ton of junk...crap...sediment? All over them. I'm not sure how to get it off. I've tried swishing them in just removed tank water but it doesn't help. One of them even has white ends all over it. Do I trim them? How do I do this? Any advice?

Have you tried squeezing them? I find that helps a lot. If they're really gunky they could get a club soda water bath for a few days. It will increase their rate of photosynthesis so that might help them let go of the bits of junk they've picked up.
