Still a Newbie...

So since I just joined this site I don't have enough posts to start a thread on the classifieds section (Don't worry I'm not gonna spam to get 100 posts). My dilemma is that I have a betta girl who is getting to be pretty mean now all of a sudden. She has bursts of rage at bettas around her. I don't want the sorority to suffer because of her hormones lol so I was THINKING about giving her away.. I want to wait to see if she calms down or not but I am wondering if anyone might be interested.. This is not guaranteed or anything. I also don't want to worry about shipping so if anyone is in Southern Cali, speak if you are interested in giving this girlie a good home

I had a betta just like that a looong time ago. sHe ended up killing my entire sorority of like 4 fish. (Never having sororitys again!!) i had to keep her in a seperate tank) you could try asking ur petstore if they wil take her. Some will some wont.

For now, I recommend a breeders box which you can hang inside the sorority. let her out periodically and see if she improves in behaviour. I wish they made the equivilance of hamster balls for betta fish! lol

+1 on the breeders box. I have an aggressive female, she holds the sorority together. She will keep the others in check which is actually quite good. Let her sit in the breeders box for about a day, then release her. Also remember, fin nipping is fine and should go away with time, body shots is a bit more serious. If it is only nipped fins leave her in or put her in a breeding net. Make sure she has access to air in the breeding box as well.

Thank you for the breeders box ideas you kfryman and aokashi I hadn't thought of that. Its not very often that she does it, but every now and then she will do some body nips where she will come under one of my other girls and nip her on the tummy :O I hate to see that happen. All the other girls just pick around for food and sometimes challenge each other for territory problems and all that

I agree xD You should write a letter to Top Fin maybe it will be a hit lol

Your tank is good! Maybe try adding some java moss? (Supper easy plant to care for) Or some terracotta pots with the bottom knocked out of it? (Remember to sand the edges)
